Windows Vista issues

If you have trouble using TibiaAuto with Windows Vista, follow these steps to resolve most problems, which are related to missing administrative rights:

1. Close both TibiaAuto and Tibia.
2. Uninstall TibiaAuto.
3. Uninstall Tibia.
4. Reinstall Tibia to "C:\Games\Tibia" (just a suggestion, but don't let it install to "C:\Program Files\").
5. Install TibiaAuto again with administrative rights (right click the installer and choose "Run as ...") to a different folder than Tibia, e.g. "C:\Games\TibiaAuto\"
6. After that, right click the TibiaAuto shortcut, select "Properties" -> "Compatibility" -> check the item "Run as administrator". Press "OK".
7. Do that same configuration to the Tibia client!
8. Run Tibia.
9. Run TibiaAuto (it should give you a warning).

Done!

Disabling the UAC (User Account Control, see UAC on Wikipedia) often helps as well.

Python

It's imperative to use either Python 2.4.3 or 2.4.4 with TibiaAuto. All other versions will fail!

If you don't know where to find it, just download it from here: http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.4.4/python-2.4.4.msi and install it (with administrative rights!) BEFORE installing TA. Be aware that you HAVE to install it to ALL USERS.

Sometimes there are unsolved issues when using a 64bit OS and a 32bit version of python. This is still being investigated, but only few have problems with that.

Script XY is not working

Are you using an old script and editing it? If yes, try creating a NEW script from scratch.

Otherwise, what we recomend is …

1. Save your Tibia maps to a backup folder (see below).
2. Save your TibiaAuto scripts to a backup folder.
3. Uninstall Tibia.
4. Uninstall TibiaAuto.
5. Delete the complete Tibia and TibiaAuto files and folders.
6. Uninstall Python.
7. Redownload Python AND TibiaAuto (remember, Python 2.4.4 or 2.4.3).
8. Install Python with admin privileges to ALL USERS.
9. Install Tibia with admin privileges to ALL USERS to a new folder outside %program files% (like: "C:\Games\Tibia").
10. Install TibiaAuto with admin privileges to ALL USERS to a different folder than the Tibia folder (like: "C:\Games\TibiaAuto").

When you start Tibia and TibiaAuto later on, be sure you also RUN them with full admin privileges.

How to backup your Tibia map files (and hotkey list)

1. Press the Windows Key + R (or "Start" -> "Run …")
2. Type "%AppData%\Tibia". This will open an explorer window.
3. There you will see the "Automap" folder and a file called "Tibia.cfg". Copy both to a save location (right click, copy - The automap folder is where your map is kept and tibia.cfg is your hotkey list).
4. After (re-)installing Tibia, run it once and log in. This will create the "%AppData%\Tibia" folder again (which was deleted by the uninstallation procedure of Tibia) and you will be able to paste your copied maps (and hotkey list) back …

ERROR! Unable to read TA install directory! Please reinstall.

This occurs when TA does not have full access to the registry. If you can edit it manually then the installer should be able to edit it as well.

To check if you can edit it manually.

• Go to "Start" -> "Run …".
• Type in "regedit" and run it.
• In the directory listing find the entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Tibia Auto/"

There should be a new string value named "Install_Dir" with value <TA's install dir>

If you cannot create it yourself by adding a new string value then you need higher permissions.

Having this error while playing an OT:

1. Run your IP Changer as admin.
2. Run Tibia as admin.
3. Login to your character in Tibia.
4. Run TibiaAuto as admin.

TibiaAuto file is .EXE instead of .ZIP, why?

It's an install file now, so you don't need to unzip and move files around anymore. Just execute it and select the destination folder for TA, then select your Tibia client folder (do NOT use the same path for both). If you made changes to some configuration files, e.g. the "tibiaauto-items.xml", it's advised to make a backup before installation of a new version, since it might get overwritten and your changes lost.

TibiaAuto has a virus. My AntiVirus said so!

Not true. It's a false positive.

Why it's showing? If you see, TA is smaller now (from almost 2 MB to 1.4 MB). TibiaAuto creator (Vanitas) is using a new program to compact the files called PECOMPACT and this is what's showing the "virus/trojan" problem.

You can scan the files using Jotti and VirusTotal to check that, to be sure.

Loading script failed: There must be a call to tibiaauto.registerPlugin()

Remember that python version 2.4.3 or 2.4.4 is mandatorily required. And all programs (Tibia, TibiaAuto and Python) need to installed and run with administrative privileges.

The numbers in the brackets of the error message (e.g. "tibiaauto.registerPlugin() (4/4)" hint to the script in the "tascripts" subfolder of your TA install directory that is causing the error. In the example the 5th script (alphabetically ordered) is the culprit (number given in brackets plus one).

But I didn't have this problem with 1.10.4 (or previous) versions

This is because you have to DELETE all TibiaAuto files from your Tibia client folder. Uninstall 1.10.5, delete all files (you can't play tibia, leave the client closed) and install 1.10.5. Done. ;)

If I'm botting and my backpack is full how do I make TibiaAuto to loot to another backpack?

TA will use any open container with free space to deposit loot. So just leave a bunch of bags/BPs open (and minimized, if you wish to save space). When your main backpack is full, TA will automatically loot to the next empty space available (those bags you opened before).

Remember not to activate the Auto Looter and the Cave Bot at the same time.

When I open TibiaAuto the character selection doesn't come up or my character isn't shown in the character selection (probably it only says "unknown"

Here are some solutions that may solve those problems:

• Minimize Tibia. Sometimes the character selection screen (or the question if you want to install Mozilla after a fresh installation of TibiaAuto) hides behind Tibia and therefore you just don't see it. :)
• Tibia Auto requires you have Windows NT or newer (2000, XP, Vista, Seven).
• Restart your computer. Sometimes dll's get jammed in the memory and rebooting sometimes fixes this.
• This also happens when your installation is faulty, so reinstalling TibiaAuto will fix it eventually (If you do install it correctly. See above for more info.).
• As stated before, remember to install TibiaAuto without opening Tibia. So, CLOSE Tibia before installing TibiaAuto.

Starting TibiaAuto always says "version mismatch". But I'm sure I'm using the correct version of TibiaAuto

• Be really sure you have the correct version of TibiaAuto for your used Tibia A look into the news archive of the TibiaAuto main website may help finding the correct version for a specific Tibia.
• Running TibiaAuto with Tibia 9.1 and later requires making some changes to the registry because CIP changed some client code. There is a reg file for download in this thread of the forum. Just run that reg file and restart your computer afterwards (all this is only necessary once).
